Introducing
Dr. Herrera
Dr.Herrera has been practicing periodontics with a gentle touch since 1990. She was born and raised in Reno, Nevada where her father and brother practice dentistry. After attending the University of Southern California Dental Hygiene School, she practiced and taught dental hygiene at USC and Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Herrera graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific Dental School, San Francisco. She also received clinical awards in both pediatric dentistry and periodontics. She went on to advanced studies in periodontics at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1999 the San Mateo County Dental Society awarded Dr. Herrera with the Distinguished Service Award for her admirable contribution to the dental community. Dr. Herrera has a comprehensive approach to periodontal therapy, which includes regeneration, periodontal plastic surgery, reconstruction, prevention and maintenance. It is most important to her that patients have good experiences in her practice. Her practice vision is to provide the highest periodontal care with compassion and minimal discomfort. Aside from her busy periodontal practice, Dr.
Herrera has taught at the University of the Pacific Dental School, and was an elected
member of the San Mateo County Dental Society Board of Directors where she currently
serves on the membership committee. She is also a member of the American Dental
Association (A.D.A.), California Dental Association (C.D.A.), American Academy of
Periodontology (A.A.P.), California Society of Periodontists (C.S.P.), San Mateo Dental
